Zelda May Have Reedeemed itself.
Cross your fingers! Zelda may be heading in the same direction as Mario did to Galaxy.

Quote: * The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).
* You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection
* The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.
* They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.
* One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.
* The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.
* The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.
* She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.
* The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)
* Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.
*
* There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.
* The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (Google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)
* The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.
* Time travel plays a role in the game.
* The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.

Quote:The confirmation of this post, by one of our translators, was found out to be false. I apologize if that confirmation provided any miss information, and I will be sure the team provides fully translated jap to english text for any future confirmations. Therefore, the only "official" translation is the one provided by Chesu at GameFaqs. It still doesn't really change the news posting much, just means that there is only one person who translated it.

All we can hope as that it is true!

I really want to see this in a Zelda game. And for the Wii too! Now a reason for me to use it again (aside from galaxy 2)

RE: Zelda May Have Reedeemed itself.
What do you mean "redeem"? I thought Spirit Tracks already accomplished that. It made up for all the shortcomings of Phantom Hourglass and then some.

I must say, all those points actually sound rather disappointing. I'd rather there weren't three games in a row that are sans-Master Sword, first off. And as for the rest of it, it sounds basically like a poorly crafted mix of Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past. Come on, the concept of powering up the sword with different abilities is totally a carbon copy of the Ability Medallions in A Link to the Past. Don't get me wrong, ALttP and TP on their own were fairly good games, but what they're doing here is taking all the uniqueness out of both games by using some of their innovative features. I couldn't care less about TP, but ALttP should maintain some of that special nostalgia for those who enjoy playing it.

Anyway, I won't be happy until they make a non-handheld sequel to Wind Waker.

RE: Zelda May Have Reedeemed itself.
I don't think Nintendo would override an existing sequel of WW. Sorry. :(
The sword skills just sound like they're going to bring back the sword techniques from TP. No LttP involved.

I disagree completely. I don't really want new when it comes to Zelda. I've been an avid Zelda fan since I was 6, when OoT came out, and it began to go downhill after MM came out. I want something that takes all of the awesome of OoT and MM and remixes it into a totally new adventure- and that is what this new Zelda sounds like to me.

Here's what I think belongs in the next Zelda game:
- Time Travel (or a similar gimmick)
- Immersive Music (Imitate WW)
- Transformation (think TP + MM)
- Enough with Hyrule! Use another world... Or better yet, many- perhaps having the dimensions with their wires crossed.
- More interesting open space (TP and MM)
- Difficulty settings (Zelda has gotten waaay too easy lately.)
- Voice acting for all characters but Link. Metroid Prime made the transition quite beautifully; why can't Zelda?
- More secrets
- Nonlinear level progression, both between and in dungeons

Super Mario Galaxy was very successful. Why? Because it took the old but good elements from Super Mario 64 and remixed it in such a way that it still felt new. It's nothing like Megaman where they just released new level sets each year.

I want nostalgia in the next game.

RE: Zelda May Have Reedeemed itself.
You know, speaking of Megaman...they should go back and do another Gameboy/Color style Zelda game, like what happened to Megaman 9. That, for me, is nostalgia, since my first Zelda game was Oracle of Ages.
